Educational Testing Services has announced that its GRE Search Service now covers over 200 countries worldwide including EU nations such as France, Germany and Italy. This, ETS representatives say, will make it easier for U.S. graduate programs to single out the high-quality international applicants best suited to their schools.
"With graduate student recruitment becoming globally competitive, this online service is an essential tool that helps graduate and business schools be very strategic in their recruitment and outreach efforts," says David G. Payne, Vice President and Corporate Operations Officer for College and Graduate Programs.
The GRE Search Service covers not only students who have already taken the GRE but also students who have registered to take it and students who contact ETS and say that they are interested in graduate study and specifically request to be included.
The GRE or Graduate Record Exam is a general test, similar to the SATs. It covers math, language and analytical skills expected of graduate-level students. There are also GRE subject tests that deal with specific areas of interest, such as biology, chemistry and English literature.
