The Landmark Difference

A note from the Director of Admissions

Many colleges and universities actively recruit students who learn differently; these students are often the most intelligent, creative, and engaged members of any higher education community. Landmark College is distinctive because of our comprehensive mission and curriculum that supports students who learn differently in their pursuit of academic success. Since our founding more than 20 years ago, Landmark College has been a community dedicated to the belief that our students are some of the finest in any institution of higher education.

For me, Landmark College is truly unique because it is a community of people that not only understand and respect my learning difficulties, but a community of people who really "get it." In my experience as a faculty member, and now as the Director of Admissions, I don't have to explain myself; I don't have to apologize. In my more than 30 years of being diagnosed as dyslexic and hyperactive, Landmark College is the first place where those of us who learn differently are the majority.

We have more one-on-one attention and one of the lowest student-faculty ratios of any school in the world.

Our entire faculty is experienced in the field of learning difficulties; many of them have a personal connection to the field.

We integrate cutting-edge technology into our learning strategies.

Most importantly, our graduates of Landmark College go on to become student leaders at some of the finest institutions in the world.

Landmark College is the premier institution for those who learn differently because we were founded as a community of people who believe in the high potential of our students. Landmark College is deeply aware of our students' strengths as a well as our students' challenges—our students may come to us unaware of how their learning difference affects them, but they leave with a complete understanding of their disability and a willingness to advocate for themselves. Colleges and universities welcome transferring Landmark students because of their excellent academic ability and because they set a fine example for other students who learn differently. This is the difference on which we were founded. We stand as a landmark to the world of higher education, saying to those who learn differently, you will undoubtedly earn respect when given the opportunity to reach your true potential.
